One late-night search led me to a $200 flight to Costa Rica. I listed my condo, booked the flight, and packed everything into storage. Then the pandemic hit. Borders closed. I stayed.
Two weeks later, I met my now-husband. What began as a temporary reset became a new life — built across five countries, through immigration offices and banking hurdles and lease negotiations that no one warned me about.
Melanin Tours was built from that lived experience. I know what it feels like to leap without a map. And I know how different the journey is when you have one — and people beside you.
